About the Forum

On June 6–8, China’s Ministry of Science and Technology hosted the Eighth Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM-8) and the Second Mission Innovation Ministerial (MI-2) in the China National Conference Center. Energy Foundation, with the approval of the ministry, successfully organized a side event—Clean Energy Economy Transition Forum—on the first day.

Over 240 high-level government officials from both China and the United States, senior representatives of international agencies, well-known economists and energy experts, as well as entrepreneurs gathered to have in-depth discussions on topics of “green growth,” “green employment,” “green finance,” and “innovation to ensure sustained prosperity,” so as to reach international consensus to jointly promote the clean energy economy transition.

Distinguished guests include Wang Zhigang, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of China; Wang Yiming, Vice President of the Development Research Center of the State Council; Wang Min, Executive Vice President of the State Grid Corporation; Wang Changlin, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research; Jerry Brown, Governor of California; Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency; and Adnan Z. Amin, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency, etc.
