Zou Ji, CEO and President of Energy Foundation China (EF China), shared his suggestions on green development along the “Belt and Road” when invited to China’s third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing from October 17 to 18, 2023.

On September 7, 2023, with the support of Energy Foundation China (EF China), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association co-hosted a green finance session, as part of the 2023 International Forum on Energy Transition in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.

From August 31 to September 1, 2023, Zou Ji, CEO and President of Energy Foundation China (EF China), led a delegation to Shanxi Province to kick off a series of pollution reduction and carbon mitigation projects, in the presence of the government of Linfen City and the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shanxi Province.

On August 29, 2023, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Energy Foundation China (EF China), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institutes of Science and Development, co-organized on the sidelines of the 2023 annual general meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) an open forum on the theme of “Synergizing the Efforts on Climate Change and Forging the Path to Green Prosperity.”

On August 25, 2023, on the side lines of the ASEAN Energy Business Forum 2023 held in Bali, Indonesia, Energy Foundation China (EF China), along with the Belt and Road Center of China’s National Development and Reform and the ASEAN Center for Energy, co-hosted the ASEAN-China Low Carbon Investment Cooperation Workshop.

In mid-August 2023, Energy Foundation China (EF China) and Hainan Province inked their second five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU), after the two parties first entered into a partnership in 2018.

Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) spoke of China’s achievements in advancing the green and decarbonization transition and expressed his expectation for China to play a bigger role in renewable energy and low carbon technologies, during his first visit to Beijing after the pandemic. As climate governance requires joint effort of all countries, he said IEA is willing to deepen the cooperation and exchange with China at the July 4 reception supported by Energy Foundation China and the Institute of Energy at Peking University.
