Energy Foundation Announces New China Sustainable Energy Program Director
We are delighted to announce that, beginning November 15, Dr. Jiang Lin joined the Energy Foundation as Vice President and Director of the China Sustainable Energy Program, which is focused on helping China to advance clean energy technologies, especially energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Dr. Lin brings deep technical expertise to our program, as well as years of experience with Chinese energy policy. Dr. Lin is Senior Scientist with the China Energy Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. Since joining LBNL in 1994, Dr. Lin has been a leading researcher on China's energy efficiency and renewable energy policies. He has served as an advisor to numerous Chinese agencies, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Program. Dr. Lin has been a long-time China Sustainable Energy Program (CSEP) grantee, helping to develop several of China's appliance efficiency standards as well as low-carbon development scenarios. Dr. Lin received his Ph.D. in demography from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1992 and his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1984.
Special thanks to founding CSEP Director, Mr. Douglas Ogden, under whose skillful and dedicated leadership CSEP developed into the effective program it is today. As the Executive Vice President of the Energy Foundation and the founding Director of CSEP, Doug has been a major contributor to the Energy Foundation's success, and we will miss him. We wish Doug success in his new career in green technology business and investment.
