Driving Forces of Low Carbon Development in Chinese Communities

Through questionnaires and field interviews in typical communities, this report analyzes the current status and possible trends of China's low carbon communities, identifies their problems in terms of policy, funding, and technology, and proposes feasible solutions.
It helps to better understand the status quo, and provides a pathway of promoting low carbon development in communities first, and then expanding them to the city level.
The research was supported by Energy Foundation China and released by the Institute for Sustainable Communities and the Beijing Chaoyang Yuheng Sustainable Transportation Research Center in 2017.
