In May of 2019, the Rocky Mountain Institute released the report with support from Energy Foundation China and WWF.

The report explores how significant it is if China’s city clusters peak their carbon emissions early, what advantages these clusters have, and what the key issues are that they need to address. The research aims to introduce the peaking concepts to relevant research institutes and government agencies in China, and help city clusters prepare for their carbon peaking work for the next steps.
