China’s Long-Term Low Carbon Development Strategy and Pathway: A Comprehensive Report
To explore a sustainable development pathway compatible with China’s low carbon targets, Energy Foundation China established its flagship Long-Term Strategy for Decarbonization Task Force in 2018 and jointly initiated a research project with the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development at Tsinghua University on China’s low carbon development strategy and transition pathway for the next decades.

In September 2020, the State Information Center of China released this report with Energy Foundation China’s support. One of the 18 sub-projects of the foundation’s flagship project on China’s long-term deep decarbonization strategy, this report uses a macroeconomic forecasting model and a dynamic computable general equilibrium model to analyze China’s socio-economic development by 2025, 2035, and 2050.
