Job Title: Consultant,Strategy and Planning
Location: Beijing, China
Reports To: Director/Officer, Strategy and Planning
Duration: 6 months with possibility to extend
SUMMARY:
In summary, Consultant will perform the following work for EF China:
Providing support to the Strategy and Planning department, including event organization and coordination, grantmaking, data management and research, as well as other general tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Organization and Coordination
- Support the organization and coordination of major events, including but not limited to, drafting itinerary/agenda, developing work plan for key partners, coordinating with stakeholders and partners, preparing invitation, inviting experts, and, etc.
- Coordinate closely with internal and external experts, vendors, venues, and partners related to international and domestic events.
- Assist team members to prepare engagement materials such as bilingual newsletters, meeting summary, policy analysis, partner updates for event dissemination.
Data Management and Research
- Assist team members to collect data and maintain database and platform with regular updates and review.
- Assist team members in research for knowledge products and reports and provide support in presentations preparations.
- Assist team members in policy tracking and analysis.
- Assist team members in research to identify potential project themes, analyze added-values of new projects, and to provide inputs to landscape analysis.
Others
- Work closely with other colleagues to support the important events as required;
- Translate written materials from English to Chinese or vice versa as required;
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned;
- Other related duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Education: Master degree or above, preferably in a related field of energy, energy policies and economics, public policy/administration, or other related majors. Knowledge and understanding in energy/climate issues and low carbon development.
- Working Experience: minimum 1-2 years of related working experience in the areas of energy/climate issues and low carbon development. Deep interest in climate, energy, and environment related research is strongly preferred.
- Language: Chinese native speaker; excellent command of spoken and written English; Excellent command of written Chinese as a plus.
- Project management skills: ability to manage projects according to a set of procedures and rules, follow the necessary steps rigorously, with the good understanding of the purpose, scope and timeline of the projects.
- Research skills: strong skills in data accuracy and ability to examine and interpret a wide variety of data.
- Communications: ability to communicate with others clearly, listen actively and write with clear logics.
