In November 2020, Tsinghua University released this report on how to decarbonize China’s industrial parks authored by Prof. CHEN Lyujun’s research group at the university’s School of Environment, with support from Energy Foundation China.

The report identifies challenges and opportunities facing the low carbon transition of China’s industrial parks, uncovers their carbon emission characteristics, and quantifies decarbonization targets, pathways, and carbon reduction potentials of the parks toward 2035 and 2050.

This report also provides holistic and robust policy recommendations for decarbonizing industrial parks, which are critical in achieving China’s ambitious carbon peaking and neutrality goals.
