In late 2019, the China Clean Air Policy Partnership (CCAPP) and Tsinghua University released this report, with support from Energy Foundation China.

With support from Energy Foundation China, the China Foundation Center analyzed the current programs, funding size, and geographical distribution of Chinese charitable foundations that have worked on the environment, especially in the field of clean air. The resulting report was released in June 2019.

In July 2019, the World Resources Institute released this report with support from Energy Foundation China. Researchers analyzed latest water price policies and regulations in China, and summarized international experience on imposing and enforcing water price and water resources fee/tax, in hopes of making well-balanced policy recommendations to China.

During 2018–2019, Energy Foundation China supported Planet-Data Inc. to investigate temporal and spatial distribution of PM2.5 in Jinan, the capital city of eastern Chinese province Shandong that has suffered smog episodes.
