With more evidence of the health impact of air pollution, the World Health Organization (WHO) updated its Global Air Quality Guidelines in September 2021.

On October 31, 2022, with the support of Energy Foundation China (EF China), the China Clean Air Policy Partnership held an academic salon for 700 experts, discussing sources and environmental impacts of atmospheric ammonia emissions in Chinese cities.

The Air Quality Task Force of Energy Foundation China pursues world-class air quality and carbon neutrality for China by implementing a co-control strategy for air and climate pollutants. The task force supports cross-cutting research on air quality, climate change, health, energy, the economy, and urban-rural coordination topics.

In December 2021, with Energy Foundation China’s support, the Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning released this report analyzing China’s air quality strategies for the next five years that are aligned with its climate ambitions.

In 2019, Energy Foundation China supported Tsinghua University to explore ambitious clean air targets and their achievement pathways in China for 2030 and 2050. The findings were published in this report in January 2020.
