With support from Energy Foundation China, the China Clean Air Policy Partnership released this report in September 2021, which was co-authored by Tsinghua University’s Institute for Carbon Neutrality and Institute for Global Change Studies, Peking University’s College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning.

The report summarizes and analyses how China should adopt the synergistic governance of air pollution control and climate change mitigation in China, while also identifies the challenges and proposes potential solutions.

It establishes a preliminary monitoring index system concerning synergistic control of air and climate pollutants. Researchers hope the report can help formulate, evaluate, and improve China’s environmental co-control policies, with the aim of the full implementation of coordinated governance.
