In April 2020, Tsinghua University released this survey report supported by Energy Foundation China. It quantifies environmental benefits by electric vehicle (EV) deployment in the two metropolises of Beijing and Shenzhen, both of which are top five cities in the world in terms of EVs on the road. The benefits cover exhaust emissions mitigation from vehicles and fleets, air quality improvement, human health gains, and climate mitigation.

Researchers hope this report will help the two pioneer cities accelerate their EV deployment and air quality improvement, and provide experience for other cities in China and the world.
