In June 2022, the International Council on Clean Transportation released the 2021 edition of this annual report reviewing how much the world has progressed toward electric vehicles. The research was conducted with the support of Energy Foundation China.

In the context of the accelerated zero-emission mobility transition globally, the report summarizes electric vehicle market developments in Europe, the United States, China, and other parts of the world in 2021, including their electrification goals, progress, new regulations, financial incentives, and energy supply and charging infrastructure strategies. The bilingual reports in Chinese and English disseminate international experiences and share China stories—efforts that the authors hope can help China continue to lead the transition to electric vehicles and achieve its carbon goals.
