Transformational Development of Inner Mongolia’s Coal Industry With the Carbon Peaking and Neutrality Goals

In May 2022, with the support of Energy Foundation China, SinoCarbon Innovation & Investment Co., Ltd launched this proposing how Inner Mongolia should transform its coal industry against the backdrop of the China’s dual goals of carbon peaking and neutrality, along with another report studying the same topic for the whole coal industry in China.
From the perspectives of coal production, coal consumption, just transition, and green financing, this report presents a transformational development plan for the coal industry in Inner Mongolia, one of China’s biggest coal producing and coal power provinces.
