Program Director, Clean Power

Mr. Yongping Zhang joined The Energy Foundation in April 2023 as Program Director of Clean Power. He is responsible for the development and execution of the program’s strategy, fundraising, and management of grant-funded projects. He has more than 20 years of academic and commercial experience in energy and power sector. His professional background includes work with multinational corporations such as Accenture and IBM, as well as private energy companies and high-technology firms. Mr. Zhang holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University.
