Sheng CUI

Program Coordinator, Industry

Mr. Sheng Cui is a Program Coordinator of the Industry Program at Energy Foundation China, supporting grant and project management, research and analysis, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement. His focus includes industrial decarbonization and energy efficiency improvement. He first joined the foundation in April 2021, working with the Program Management Office and supporting the cross-cutting Coal Transition task force. Prior to his stint at the foundation, Mr. Cui was an analyst at the World Bank’s Energy Global Practice and Energy Sector Management Assistance Program, working on project-based climate assessment and trust fund management for almost three years. Before that, he worked in development policy research and reform advising in energy- and social-related fields with multiple international organizations and national government agencies, including the United Nations Development Program in Eswatini, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and China’s National Development and Reform Commission.

Mr. Cui holds a Master of Public Administration degree in International Development from New York University. He also earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in International Political Economy at Peking University.
