Xie Meets International Climate Philanthropies on the Sidelines of COP27

Xie Zhenhua, China’s special envoy for climate change affairs, met representatives from international climate philanthropies working in China, in Sharm El-Sheikh on November 14, 2022, along with several department and division officials from China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, during a two-day pavilion hosted by Energy Foundation China on the sidelines of the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27).

Minister Xie thanked the contributions the philanthropies have made in China over the years, when he and the other senior Chinese officials talked about how to enhance international climate and clean energy cooperation with the representatives from Energy Foundation China, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Oak Foundation, Climate Innovation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, Sequoia Climate Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Quadrature Climate Foundation, and ClimateWorks Foundation. They also discussed future cooperation priorities in China.
