In 2010, with support from CIP and under the guidance of four universities—Beijing University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dalian University of Technology and Chongqing University—16 colleges and universities from 7 major areas of China established the University Alliance for Industrial Energy Efficiency (UAIEE).

Small Labels, Big Savings

When Energy Foundation China was founded in 1999, it supported the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) and other institutes to improve the existing standards and set efficiency standards for other appliances and lighting products.

Growing Green Buildings

Energy Foundation China has long focused on making buildings more energy efficient. The foundation funded work on China's first-ever Standard for Building Energy Efficiency in Hot-summer and Cold-winter Region, issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MOHURD) in 2001.

Improving Fuel Quality in the World's Largest Auto Market

The China Transportation Program (CTP) has worked to strengthen China’s fuel standards since 2004. It began by supporting Tsinghua University and the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP)-affiliated Vehicle Emission Control Center (VECC) in holding China’s first international workshop on low sulfur vehicle fuel in 2005.
