In June 2023, with the support from Energy Foundation China, CABR EET, an company affiliated to the Institute of Building Environment and Energy, released this summary report presenting a carbon neutrality-compatible pathway of using heat pumps for residential heating in the winter.

The report reviews the progress of heat pumps in China, before it analyzes their carbon reduction potential and current policy framework. It identifies barriers that still exist and proposes measures from policy, economic, and technology perspectives that might help overcome them. Authors of the report hope it can provide ideas for further promoting the adoption of heat pumps for space heating.
