A Bicycle System Development Strategy for Central Guangzhou Districts

In September 2022, with support from Energy Foundation China, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy released this report resenting a strategy for developing bicycle systems for different street types in different areas of central Guangzhou districts.
The report examines the current bicycle lanes in Guangzhou, analyzes the characteristics and problems of using conventional bicycles and electric bicycles in the city of 18 million people, and provides recommendations for different districts and different street types in terms of bicycle transportation strategies, implementation pathways, demonstration projects, and bicycle campaigns.
